WPL 2026: Nat-Sciver scores 1st ever ton in the league, leads orange cap race

The WPL 2026 leaderboard has seen significant shifts following the 16th match of the tournament, where the Mumbai Indians (MI) defeated the table-topping Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) by 15 runs. This high-scoring "run-fest" resulted in major movement for both the Orange and Purple Cap races.

Orange Cap: Sciver-Brunt Takes the Lead

Nat Sciver-Brunt has surged to the top of the run-scoring charts in WPL 2026 after a historic 100* (57) against RCB. The first ever ton in WPL history.

  •  Nat Sciver-Brunt (MI) leads the pack with 319 runs in six innings. Her ascent was fueled by scoring the first-ever century in WPL history, an unbeaten 100 that ended a 1,059-day wait for a milestone ton.

  • Her teammate and MI captain, Harmanpreet Kaur, holds second place with 260 runs after contributing 20 in the recent match.

  • Phoebe Litchfield of the UP Warriorz sits in third with 243 runs - striking them at an impressive strike-rate of 154.77

  • RCB captain Smriti Mandhana slipped to fourth place, currently on 236 runs, following a single-digit score against Mumbai.

  • Lizelle Lee of the Delhi Capitals rounds out the top five with 219 runs.

Purple Cap: The Race Tightens

Nandani Sharma has been a revelation for Delhi Capitals in WPL 2026 and she ahead in the purple cap race with 13 wickets.

While the lead remains unchanged, the gap at the top of the wicket-taking charts is narrowing, with five bowlers now clustered between 11 and 13 wickets.

  • Nandani Sharma (DC) maintains her position at the top with 13 wickets. Sharma had become only the 4th bowler in WPL to bag a hat-trick.

  • The Chasers: Amelia Kerr (MI) moved into a close second with 12 wickets after bagging two wickets against RCB.

  • The 11-Wicket Group: Three bowlers are currently tied at 11 wickets: Lauren Bell (RCB), who moved up after a two-wicket haul on Monday, Nadine de Klerk (RCB), and Sophie Devine (GG).

Match Impact and WPL 2026 Leauge Table

The recent victory by the Mumbai Indians was particularly notable as it came against the "table toppers," RCB. Despite a heroic finishing effort from Richa Ghosh, who nearly pulled off a "miracle" for RCB, Mumbai's total of 199 proved too much to overcome. This win not only shifted individual player rankings but solidified MI's position as a dominant force as the tournament progresses.

RCB, after winning five in a row have lost their last two games. MI, DC and GG are tied at six points with the two-time champions slightly ahead on the net run-rate.
