T20 World Cup 2026: India vs Namibia, Stat Highlights

Hardik Pandya scored his 8th fifty in T20Is, bagged two wickets and won the player of the match.

India vs Namibia - Stat Highlights

Ishan Kishan smashed the leather off of the ball, Hardik Pandya played his all-rounder role to perfection and Varun Chakravarthy was at his crafty best. India beat Namibia by 93 runs in New Dellhi. A convincing win for the men in blue (get India's jersey) and with that victory, India now have won 10 T20 World Cup games in a row and are leading Group A.

India scored their 47th 200+ total in T20Is and the 93-run margin was the biggest for them in T20 World Cups. Plenty of records were broken and we here look at a few numbers from the India vs Namibia fixture.

Kishan's Blitzkrieg

Ishan Kishan took a back seat when Sanju Samson was firing and when Sanju departed, Kishan exploded. The southpaw went berserk and clobbered the Namibian bowlers all around the park. In the 6th over of the powerplay the southpaw smashed JJ Smit for 28 runs. The over read - 0,6,6,6,6,4 and Kishan got to his fifty off only 20 deliveries - his 8th in T20Is.

Ishan Kishan reached his fifty inside the powerplay and this was the second time he'd achieved this feat. Who are the other Indian batters to do it?

Abhishek Sharma (thrice)

Rohit Sharma (twice)

Ishan Kishan (twice)

KL Rahul (once)

Yashasvi Jaiswal (once)

Fifty in a Jiffy

Kishan finished with 61 off only 24 which included six fours and five sixes. 54 off his 61 runs came off boundaries. His fifty of 20 was the joint-fourth fastest for India at the mega event. Yuvraj Singh's 12-ball fifty is very unlikely to be beaten but can the likes of Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan, Shivam Dube challenge it? Who do you think will get closest?

12 - Yuvraj Singh vs ENG, Durban, 2007

India's Power-Packed Powerplay

Sanju Samson made his T20 World Cup debut and he was off to a rollicking start. He scored 22 off 8 and his scoring shots, were all boundaries - 6,6,6,4. After Samson's dismissal, Kishan took charge and the ball was flying everywhere. India at the end of 6 overs were 86/1- their third highest powerplay score in T20Is and their highest in T20 World Cups.

95/1 vs ENG, Mumbai WS, 2025

94/2 vs NZ, Guwahati, 2026

86/1 vs NAM, Delhi, 2026 T20 WC

82/2 vs SCOT, Dubai, 2021 T20 WC

82/1 vs BAN, Hyderabad, 2024

Making 200 Look Easy

Namibia managed to restrict India to 209. At one point, India were 120/2 at the end of 10 overs and what looked like a 240+ total was contained by a cheeky Gerhard Erasmus spell (4/20). However, the men in blue did manage to sneak past 200 and did for a staggering 47th time. Out of those 47 times, India have gone on to win on 42 occasions.

Most 200+ totals for teams in T20Is

47 - India

29 - South Africa

28 - New Zealand

25 - Australia

25 - West Indies

India defended the target ever so easily and the 93-run margin win was India's biggest in T20 World Cups. India also have the most wins in T20Is - 181.

Pandya Power

Hardik Pandya scored his 8th T20I fifty, his 3rd in T20 World Cups and got there in 27 deliveries. Pandya went past 2000 T20I runs not too long ago and for batters with more than 2000+ runs, his strike-rate is the fifth best. Best Strike-Rate for Batters with 2000+ T20I runs

Suryakumar Yadav (IND) - 165.13

Glenn Maxwell (AUS) - 155.49

Tim Seifert (NZ) - 145.81

Convincing Triumphs

India bundled Namibia out for only 116. All the Indian bowlers bagged a wicket at least - Varun Chakravarthy picked three and Hardik Pandya bagged a brace.

India's (get India's jersey) next fixture is against Pakistan in Colombo and it doesn't get any bigger than this in cricket. The contest is one of the largest spectacles in sports and on the 15th of February another story will be added to this intense rivalry.
