T20 World Cup 2026: India vs Pakistan - Stat Highlights

8-1 – India’s (Buy the Indian Jersey) head-to-head record against Pakistan in the men’s T20 World Cup now stands at eight wins and one loss, including the bowl-out victory in 2007. No other team has defeated a single opponent more than six times in the history of the tournament.

This result also marked India’s sixth straight victory over Pakistan in men’s T20Is, including matches played in T20 World Cups.

India vs Pakistan was a one-sided fixture and the men in blue beat Pakistan by 61 runs.

16 – India have now won 16 consecutive matches in ICC limited-overs tournaments — spanning ODI World Cups, T20 World Cups, and the Champions Trophy — since their defeat to Australia in the 2023 ODI World Cup final.

This is the longest winning streak achieved by any men’s team in ICC limited-overs events, going past Australia’s previous record of 15 successive wins across the 2006 Champions Trophy and the 2007 ODI World Cup. The Australian women’s team still holds a longer streak overall, with 24 wins between 2020 and 2024.

India also stretched their unbeaten run at the men’s T20 World Cup to 11 matches with Sunday’s win, setting a new tournament record.

175 for 7 – India’s total in Colombo became the highest score recorded in an India vs Pakistan match at the men’s T20 World Cup. The earlier highest was 160 for 6, also by India, during the 2022 edition at the MCG.

Pakistan’s total of 114 was the third-lowest in men’s T20Is between the two sides, behind their 83 all out in the 2016 Asia Cup and 113 for 7 in the 2024 T20 World Cup meeting.

61 runs – India’s 61-run victory margin in Colombo is now their biggest win by runs against Pakistan in men’s T20Is. Previously, their wins while batting first had come by margins of 11, 6, and 5 runs.

For Pakistan, the defeat ranks as their second-heaviest loss at a men’s T20 World Cup, with only the 84-run loss to West Indies in 2014 being larger.

77 – Kishan’s innings of 77 is the highest score by an Indian opening batter against Pakistan in men’s T20Is. The previous best was 75 by Gautam Gambhir in the 2007 T20 World Cup final. It also stands as the fourth-highest individual score in all men’s T20Is between the two teams.

11 – A total of 11 spinners were used in the match in Colombo, the highest number ever in a men’s T20I. Pakistan alone used six spinners, the most deployed by a team in a single innings at a men’s T20 World Cup.

18 – Pakistan’s spinners delivered 18 overs, equalling the record for the most spin overs bowled by a team in a men’s T20 World Cup match. Pakistan had previously achieved the same number against Australia in 2012 at the same venue. This also matches the highest number of spin overs bowled by any Full Member side in a men’s T20I.

8 – Hardik Pandya now has eight wickets against Pakistan in T20 World Cups across four innings, the most by any bowler against the opposition. Across all men’s T20Is, he has taken 17 wickets in nine innings against Pakistan, with a strike rate of 10.7 balls per wicket.

0 – Before this tournament, no Indian wicketkeeper had scored a fifty in the men’s T20 World Cup. Kishan ended that streak with back-to-back half-centuries. Earlier, MS Dhoni’s 45 against South Africa in 2007 had been the highest score by an Indian wicketkeeper in the tournament.

A staggering 454 million streamed the India vs Pakistan T20 World Cup fixture and once again on the grandest stage of them all, the men in blue (Buy the Indian Jersey) came out on top. India with this win have now won 11 T20 World Cup games in a row and they've won three out of three in the on going edition.
